Unexpected fun at sunset. Mild spoiler for new-ish players:
You'll need to zoom in and view full-size to find them all. Wondering if I caught the whole herd in one pano?

I thought it was a nice picture, nothing really as spectacular as others, but it made it on the home page.   :D

Folks, today is a *very* special day on Artocos Island!  :D

Sadly, my first photo of this rare event is classified and so I cannot post a link to the original (though I will see about linking a hosted snip later). However a later photo is share-able and was taken about 12 hours ago at the last sunrise:

(you will need to scroll to the west to see the good stuff!)

Edit: As promised, here's a snip, taken during the earlier moonrise!  :)

We recently witnessed a conjunction of the two Epsilon Prime moons and I wanted to share the lunar sequences here. I was able to capture sequences the day before and the day after the conjunction. However, the day of the conjunction, it was horribly cloudy on Artocos and so I could capture nothing beyond the clouds in the night sky.

Nevertheless, the lunar shifts are most interesting! :)

Moonrise: 24 Feb 2014 0325 UTC  Moonset: 24 Feb 2014 0932 UTC

Moonrise: 25 Feb 2014 0951 UTC  Moonset: 25 Feb 2014 1653 UTC

What's the great conjunction?

The great conjunction is the end of the world! Or the beginning... End, begin, all the same. Big change! Sometimes good, sometimes bad.
