Here's the other weird photo (not nearly as dramatic as the first), where it looks like someone built a brick wall atop one of the cliffs.  ;)

waves to Rob!

Thanks for the handy tip! I will leave my 900-odd photos alone for now.  :)

Besides Turing's rover, I'd spotted three others wandering around near the landing pod and was hoping it might be on one of those photos from my early days as a driver.

I still have seven hours on the rover clock between splash down and "arrival", so some time this evening...

It's a sad day for all of us, I think.  :'(

You have my utter and complete sympathy aiki. I feel exactly the same way.

Hey fellow rover drivers,

This entire topic is a huge spoiler, but since we're in the last hours of the show, I thought it worth a post.
I've been sifting through all my photos in the hopes that there is some graffiti to be found somewhere on the XRI equipment on Artocos Island. No luck so far.

Has anyone else been searching for something similar? I'm wondering if it's actually possible to decrypt that last file from Alexis.
Here's one of my own favorite weird photos.  ;D

I caught another oddity recently but haven't yet uploaded it to my Flickr album. Stay tuned for that one!

For now, I've uploaded all my archival photos to a Flickr album here. New photos will be added as time allows (I'm busy with finishing up my zoological studies!).

And the journals will be updated "in a while". If the forums disappear, I'll post links to them in my Flickr album. :)

Hi smili,

Just to let you know, my second journal was about 2/3rd done and I'd finished mapping most of Artocos Island. I'm dusting off the cobwebs and we'll see if I can't get things sorted before doomsday. ;D

If the forums survive past this month, then I'll post a link (or more!) here.

Hi Rob,

Count me as super-interested!

And I'm among the mourners who wish things had turned out differently. I had no idea you were spending so much of your own funds to keep the project alive! :-\

Who knows, the coming seasons could unfold through our mysterious friend here in the forums!  ;D

Hi smili,

Sorry, I didn't finish my subsequent journals (and now am on a tight deadline!!). I'll post what I can, assuming I finish my mapping project etc. before the servers are put to bed.

Glad you are enjoying my notes!!

In theory yes, however, I had marked all three items for identification by the XRI database and all three came back as "unidentifiable". One of the many mysteries of XRI HQ, I think.  ;)

With nothing else to do, I've spent days chasing Razorbacks. I could fill a sticker album already.

I would like to know, has anyone ever captured more than one in a photo?
They are nocturnal and apparently highly territorial, each having different areas of the island they roam each night. That said, they both seem fond of climbing up Mount Jemison (which I personally like to call Razorback Mountain) at dusk to view their territory. I managed to capture a panorama shot with both of them on different sides of the mountain gazing downward. I'm linking it below (it was marked as "classified" in spite of how nothing was identifiable by the XRI database).

SPOILER: Panorama shot from summit

Since you have a good collection of photos already, I'm assuming you've found their respective sleep spots and have a general sense of their territories. :)

Damn clouds. Cut out photo to omit classified information. Will try again the next evening.
Looks like you got a nice shot of a Razorback there too :-)

And regarding the moons, you can see a few lucky shots I managed to get here.

I was able to capture sequences the day before and the day after the conjunction.
Good work! Any links? It would be fun to see them. :)

Hi DreamWalker,

I'm not sure why you are having trouble here since there are a number of them scattered around the island and they look fairly dead. Here is a photo to give you an idea what to look for:

You'll need to scroll around since it's a 360 photo. The colors are reddish since it's at sunset; in daylight, dead Gordy Trees look white and are visibly deteriorating (sagging, cracks, that sort of thing).

The best photo I have of one in daylight is classified, so I can't link here, but it's near the first GPS unit (hence the classification). Actually, it's hard to take a photo of one without also getting the other, so you might want to check your own records of the GPS unit and see if you already captured a dead Gordy Tree there. ;)
