Title: Cogs on Linux 64 Ubuntu 11.10
Post by: layolayo on April 24, 2012, 11:35:11 PM
Hi,

I am attempting to run Cogs on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit - all is confirmed as installing ok. I get the following message in the terminal:

layolayo@lemur:~$ /usr/local/games/cogs/Cogs
Cogs: Installed in '/usr/local/games/cogs'.
Cogs: Using amd64 version.
Couldn't set 1366x768 OpenGL video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

any assistance is appreciated.

Rgds

Just a little more info and some small success:

ran: find . -name "cogs*"

discovered ./.local/share/Cogs/cogs.ini

mv cogs.ini _cogs.ini

Cogs opened up ok - however the graphics are rubbish. This is a brand new Lemur Ultra 3 from system76, using Intel HD3000 Sandy Bridge. shame the game doesn't look good or play well - would really like to see and play it in full colour and textures.
